CySEC has reminded regulated financial entities to submit the required information for calculating their annual ICT fee under the EU’s Digital Operational Resilience Act (DORA).

While the latest announcement concerns an administrative requirement, it also highlights the wider responsibilities introduced by DORA. Financial organisations must manage ICT risks, report major incidents, test their digital resilience and maintain effective oversight of third-party technology providers.

Consider a financial company whose main client platform becomes unavailable following a cyber incident or infrastructure failure. The company must be able to maintain critical operations, restore systems and data within an acceptable period, assess the impact and document how the incident was handled. A backup alone may not be sufficient if recovery procedures have not been properly designed and tested.

This makes reliable infrastructure an important part of digital resilience. Secure hosting, backup and replication, disaster recovery, cybersecurity controls, continuous monitoring and clear business continuity procedures all contribute to an organisation’s ability to respond effectively.

CL8 supports these technical requirements through its Tier III-certified data centre, local cloud services, backup and replication, Disaster Recovery as a Service, cybersecurity solutions and 24x7x365 operational support.

DORA compliance remains the responsibility of each regulated entity. CL8 provides the infrastructure and technical expertise that can support its wider digital resilience strategy.
