CL8 welcomed Michalis Hadjipantela, Member of the European Parliament for Cyprus, for a meeting with Peter G. Economides, Founder and Chairman of CL8, Elias Theodorou, CEO of CL8, and the CL8 management team.
The discussion covered a range of strategic topics including EU programmes available to Cyprus companies, the European Union’s policy on data sovereignty, the international connectivity landscape that connects Cyprus to its broader region, and the role of local digital infrastructure in supporting the secure storage and management of data within Europe.
Energy costs were also a central part of the discussion, as high electricity prices remain a major competitiveness barrier for businesses in Cyprus and have an even greater impact on energy-intensive operations such as data centres, particularly as their energy needs are increasing due to high performance compute workloads like AI.
