Michael Sirivianos, Associate Professor of Computer Engineering and Informatics and Dean of the School of Engineering and Technology at the Cyprus University of Technology, visited CL8’s Tier III-certified data center in Limassol for a tour, followed by a discussion on digital infrastructure, research collaboration, and the role of academia in advancing Cyprus’s innovation landscape.
He and his team were welcomed by Peter G. Economides, Founder, Chairman & CEO of CL8, along with members of the management team. The exchange focused on areas where academic research and advanced infrastructure intersect, including the detection of false information online, trust-aware design of distributed systems, authentication technologies, blockchain scalability, and data-driven methods for online safety.
As a board member of the CYENS Centre of Excellence, Professor Sirivianos contributes to shaping Cyprus’s research agenda in emerging technologies. The visit highlighted opportunities for closer cooperation between academia and industry in building secure, scalable, and resilient digital ecosystems.
