CL8 has signed a Green Deal with Bioland Promithia, marking an important step in the company’s wider energy strategy and ESG direction.

Under the agreement, the energy sourced by CL8 from 1 April 2026 onwards will come from renewable sources. Combined with CL8’s investment in on-site photovoltaics in 2023, this agreement moves the company closer to its ambition of becoming a 100% green data centre by 2027.

For data centres, energy is not only a sustainability issue. It also affects long-term resilience, operational efficiency, and the ability to grow and invest in future infrastructure. This latest development is part of CL8’s broader focus on building a more efficient and future-ready organisation, both in the way it sources energy and in the way it uses it.

Elias Theodorou, CEO of CL8, stated: “When people talk about the future of data centres, they usually focus on compute power. Just as important is energy. The quality of your infrastructure increasingly depends on the quality of the decisions you make around power, efficiency and long-term discipline. Our agreement with Bioland Promithia is part of that wider approach.”
