Meeting of SI.VI.AA. with Minister of Transport

A meeting between the establishment of the Industrialists Association of Agios Athanasios (SI.VI.AA.) and the Minister of Transport, Communications and Works, Alexis Vafeades, took place on 16 December 2025 at the Agios Athanasios Industrial Area.

During the meeting, SI.VI.AA. raised long-standing traffic and access issues affecting the area. The Minister confirmed that the Ministry, in coordination with the Association, is advancing infrastructure measures aimed at improving traffic flow and overall functionality of the industrial zone.

Reference was made to the planned construction of a second eastern entrance and exit, which the Minister reiterated remains a government commitment, with designs completed and funding options under review.

Concerns regarding the potential impact of future commercial developments on traffic congestion were also discussed. The Minister noted that conditions set by the Public Works Department aim to prevent any further deterioration of traffic conditions.

The meeting further covered the possible introduction of a Park & Ride route for employees, as well as progress updates on the northern bypass road, with tendering for key sections expected by the end of 2026.

The President of SI.VI.AA., Vassos Dimitriadis, welcomed the constructive dialogue and emphasised the importance of access, safety, and infrastructure planning for the continued operation of the industrial area.
