Mr. George Papanastasiou, the Cyprus Minister of Energy, Commerce and Industry, recently visited the state-of-the-art facilities of CL8 in Limassol.
Mr. Papanastasiou was warmly welcomed by our management team, led by Founder, Chairman and CEO Peter G. Economides and CTO Michalis Stavrinou. During his visit, the Minister was provided with an in-depth tour of our cutting-edge facilities, showcasing CL8’s innovative approach to data storage, energy savings and technological advancements.
Expressing keen interest in our photovoltaic system, Mr. Papanastasiou praised CL8’s efforts in promoting renewable energy and sustainability. His recognition of our commitment underscores the strategic importance of integrating sustainable practices within the technology sector, reinforcing Cyprus’s role as a forward-thinking energy leader in the region.
Discussions during the visit also focused on several other critical issues. Mr. Economides and Mr. Stavrinou highlighted the strategic importance of data security and safety, emphasizing CL8’s robust measures in safeguarding digital assets. During their conversation they also examined the cost of energy and the significance of country-to-country interconnections, topics of paramount importance for the data centers’ sector.
Furthermore, the shortage of qualified personnel in the technology and energy sectors was addressed, with both parties acknowledging the need for skilled professionals to sustain and propel industry growth. The dynamic nature of the sector in which CL8 operates was also a focal point, illustrating the company’s adaptability and readiness to meet emerging challenges and opportunities.
