The Commissioner for Electronic Communications and Postal Regulation (CECPR), Mr. George Michaelides, has recently visited the premises of CL8.com in Limassol. The Commissioner had the opportunity to update and discuss various issues related to digital data storage with Mr. Peter G. Economides, CEO and Mr. Artemios Andreou, Deputy CEO of CL8.com. The infrastructure of the Data Center as well as the security and compliance practices followed by CL8.com, which is the only independent, state-of-the-art Tier-III Data Center in Cyprus, gave the best impression to Mr. Michaelides. CL8.com is accredited as a Tier-III certified Data Center, by the Uptime Institute of the United States of America, a demanding certification that proves the commitment of CL8.com in providing its services with the highest possible standards ensuring a smooth, constant, uninterrupted operation and provisioning of CL8’s services even under extreme conditions. CL8.com implements ISO 27001 and IS0 9001 standard requirements in order to secure quality of services. It also complies with PCI DSS Data Security Standards.
Mr. Michaelides at the end of the visit commented: “Digital Security Authority (DSA) is responsible to ensure that all the Critical Information Infrastructures of the Republic of Cyprus meet at least a minimum level of security; this is also applicable to the Digital Service Providers (DSP). Our aim is to start a dialogue with all the stakeholders such as CL8, to identify the needs of the sector, as well as to consider any suggestions and/or views they might have.
It was with great pleasure, that I have seen CL8, a Cypriot company, operating under international standards and processes, targeting for continuity and quality of service.
I believe that if we all work together, we will be in a position to make Cyprus an even safer and more attractive destination for any local or foreign company to operate from within Cyprus”.
Mr Economides said “The Commissioner has taken personal interested in CL8’s infrastructure set up and services and we are delighted about this. We are at the disposal of the private as well as the government sector alike”.
